Munkeybaby, based in Denver, Colorado, was started with the birth of the Munkey Mat. A much needed product and one that wasn't on the market.

The name says it all - the Munkey Mat was created for your little monkey. Not like any other mat, the Munkey Mat is hands-free and perfect for moms or dads on the move.

When I became a busy first-time mom, my mission was to live our lives the way we always had. I thought, "Big deal if I have to carry around a diaper bag, car seat, toys, etc. Oh, but wait, what about a padded blanket or mat for my baby girl to play on?" Being the first out of my group of friends to have a baby made it a bit of a challenge. "Did we get everything?" We all know how overwhelming it can be.

The Munkey Mat was made to combine all of the essentials and to give you a portable, padded play space for your child without having to walk out the door with your hands full. The Munkey Mat folds in a way to create a tote in which you can fill it with toys, bottles, diapers or whatever you need and then open up to create a padded mat. It's thicker and larger than standard playmats, so it's comfortable to sit or kneel on as you entertain your child and gives him or her a large, cushy place to play. It also allows you and your child to be self-sufficient and prepared when you visit your friends' houses. When playtime is over, the Munkey Mat cleans up beautifully in the washing machine.
